When Kay, a super clever robot escapes from a laboratory, he chooses Toby’s bedroom as his hiding place. Toby isn’t so sure about having a know-it-all machine as a roommate, but when he realises that Kay’s super-intelligence can help him achieve Great Things, he decides to give this partnership a go.
Together, Toby and Kay figure out how to hide a fugitive robot in plain sight, achieve Genius Stuff at school, and fool world class scientists.
Marleen Lammers is a writer with a huge passion for children’s literature. She is a bit of an accidental nomad; she grew up in the Netherlands, but has been doing the expat thing for almost twenty years.
She spent most of that time in various countries in Southern Africa, working with nonprofits, and co-founding a couple of travel companies. She now travels between South Africa, the UK and Cyprus with her partner and two sons, and mostly tries to avoid cold weather. She’s happiest when writing fun children’s stories, preferably in the sun, preferably barefoot.
